HPW Ideas Worth Sharing:

Findings from the HPW survey indicated that academic faculty are unlikely to seek help from their union when experiencing mental health issues. One plausible reason for this is that employees are not aware that unions have members with expertise in what is available to employees and knowledge of what has been done in the past to accommodate employees or facilitate taking a leave of absence. Unions could, therefore, consider including information about their knowledge and what they can do from employees using such mediums as infographics or monthly/annual newsletters.
