Commentary: Healthcare organizations demonstrate more progress than non-health organizations in implementing the Standard, motivated by the importance of building an engaged and productive workforce (Gilbert & Bilsker, 2016).
Trauma and Resiliency Informed Practice (TRIP) is a program developed in 2017 by Fraser Health in partnership with MHCC that equips service providers in health, justice and social systems with the tools to appraise their own responses to distress and teaches them how to employ compassion-led strategies to support their resiliency.
Commentary: Overall, “the evaluation of the TRIP program showed number of encouraging results, including reductions in burnout and stigma scores and improvements in perceived resiliency and self-compassion” (Knaak et al., 2021, p.90).
A module designed to further the understanding of anti-Black racism in the healthcare professions and to provide resources to combat and address racism in learning and teaching spaces.
Commentary: Some research shows that anti-racism initiatives are most likely to have sustained positive effects if implemented along broader organizational accountability mechanisms and leadership (Trennery, 2016).
